Bath man scoops top RAC honour

Kevin Andrews, 41, from Bath, has been awarded the title of RAC’s Patrol Ambassador of the Year – a prestigious honour that marks him as an “elite” Patrol and lands him a role as the face of RAC for the next twelve months

Kevin was also crowned the Patrol of the Year for Region 2, which covers the Midlands, Wales and the South West, at this year’s RAC Ambassador Awards held at the Motor Heritage Museum, Gaydon on 26th March.

It was Kevin’s technical and mechanical expertise at getting vehicles back on the road and his incredibly high customer satisfaction standards that saw him triumph over nearly 2,000 Patrols, of which only 45 are nominated for the Ambassador Award, to receive the accolade.

Following the awards, Kevin said: “I am so pleased and honoured to have been named RAC Patrol Ambassador of the Year. I really enjoy being able to help people in their time of need and feel really proud of what I have achieved over the past nine years.”

“Kevin takes great pride in the service he provides to members at the roadside and his never ceasing ability to go above and beyond the call of duty proves he has what it takes to be amongst the very best of RAC’s 1,800 Patrols,” said Angela Seymour-Jackson, RAC managing director.

“Being an RAC Patrol involves so much more than simply repairing cars. Good humour, ingenuity along with the ability to work in all conditions are part of the job description! Kevin not only demonstrates excellent technical and mechanical capabilities, but shows tremendous commitment and enthusiasm for what he does. It is with great pleasure that we present him with this award, as he thoroughly deserves to be recognised for his continued hard work.”

Kevin has been a Patrol for nine years and currently covers the Bath area. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, following his local Bath rugby team and is a keen sportsman himself often to be found playing badminton or cycling.
