Tachodisc get started with RAC Business

Ahead of the 2015 CV Show two major brands launch exciting new partnership

Philip Jordan and Adam SmithTachodisc and RAC Business have announced a new mutually beneficial partnership, which will see Tachodisc promoting RAC’s range of truck services to its customers, following a meeting and an idea being sparked at the 2014 CV Show.

Philip Jordan, Tachodisc’s Managing Director said he was delighted to be working alongside RAC Business and giving customers, both corporate and SME, the opportunity to access a range of pay-on-use and subscription-based truck breakdown packages. Services on offer will start with RAC Truck Breakdown and then RAC Truck Insurance and RAC Truck Warranty.

He said: “The partnership enables us to further extend the range of added value services we can offer our road transport customers.

“All operators need some form of breakdown cover to protect their business’s time and money, and with RAC Business we have the confidence of knowing that we are presenting high quality packages that are supported by a trusted and reputable company. RAC is as big as they come with more than 25 years’ experience providing specialist truck and van rescue services.”

Amongst the services Tachodisc will be promoting are RAC Business’ new unique subscription based Truck Rescue breakdown product. With RAC Truck Rescue, customers can pay one single annual premium which covers trucks for up to four breakdowns a year on all makes and models from 3.5T vans through to 44T trucks covered.

As part of RAC’s 24/7 service, vehicles can also be recovered to a destination of choice within a 40 mile radius, anywhere in the UK if the vehicle cannot be fixed at the roadside.

Plus as part of the Truck Rescue package, customers can speak with industry experts with who have in-depth knowledge of truck manufacturers, ancillary equipment and haulage rescue and recovery services.

Adam Smith, RAC’s Insurance Product Specialist said: “Partnering with Tachodisc in this way makes perfect sense and enables us to access a significant new part of the market, which may not have realised the value of our services previously.

“It is a great opportunity to work in conjunction with another well-established and trusted brand, and also demonstrates the power of the CV Show where the initial idea for the partnership was first discussed.”
